How do you disable and safely uninstall a dedicated server?
Hey all,
I'm new and wanted to futz around and learn the game offline and tried to install the "quick start dedicated server" zip on the official homepage of Rust and I couldn't quite get it to work. I guess I'm not literate enough in what needs to be done. And it's ok, because I actually have a good friend who hosts their own server that I'll be using instead.
So I figured I'd get rid of that folder that I inconveniently placed on my desktop and when I hit delete it crashed my computer, lol. I've been searching a bit and I can't find instructions to safely uninstall it.
Sorry, I hate to make a new thread but I didn't see a megathread for questions or anything and couldn't find an answer searching the sub. Thanks for y'alls help
Edit: Hey, I figured it out, kind of. Probably not the "right" way to do it, but I changed the file folder's properties to hidden, which kept the server from trying to start up. Then it let me delete the folder no problem
