There are quite a few large cruisers shoved into the CA class that as a result are unable to take FP. Adalbert line is the latest but also some older ships like Alaska, Stalingrad, Kronstadt would really benefit from having FP as an option. And I would say it’s probably worth 2/3-pts as a skill because it doesn’t benefit a majority of cruisers with their 30-second fire timers but it could still be taken as a trade-off.

  • They could replace the 2-pt skill Focus Fire Training since only hybrids or airstrike ships take it for faster plane regen and bake it into either 2-pt Eye in the Sky or 4-pt AA/ASW. This way it’s a trade off between PT/Consumable Enhancements/Eye in the Sky, which are all very powerful skills.
  • Or replace the 3-pt skill Heavy AP since it’s only a 5% cope buff. This way it’s a trade off between SE/Pack a Punch/HHE for LH builds (you always take SI/AR).

This isn’t unprecedented. BBs get AA/ASW Expert, a 4-pt cruiser skill, as a (slightly nerfed) 2-pt BB skill. BBs also get SiS, a 4-pt DD skill, as a (somehow buffed) 2-pt skill (Brisk). In return, CAs and DDs get GtG, a 2-pt BB skill, as a nerfed 1-pt skill and ERE, a 4-pt BB skill, as a sidegrade 3-pt skill (SI).

Thoughts? Cruiser builds are already very crowded as-is, especially given the Adalbert example.
