Has anyone had good luck/great deal with buying used bikes online through Trek? I see a 2022 Verve 3 low step that is 55% off at $450, and says it is a new bike with paint blemishes. It does not list the actual blemishes like on the bikes listed as used and tested by teck.. I was told in chat this was probably a bike that was built and not sold, but on showroom floor. Chat said the pictures that are online don't show any major blemishes. What am I missing here, too good of a deal? My local dealer wants $850 for a 2022 Verve 3, and $650 for Verve 2 low step. How hard is the assembly for a guy that has never put a bike together or has changed a flat since I was a kid riding a single gear bike? Most shops seem to charge at least hundred dollars for bike assembly, and this bike has supposedly been tuned and partially put together by Trek Teck. Doubt shop would do it cheaper, due to minimum labor cost. I figured maybe if I assembly the bike I could take it for a tune up(if needed) that would be about $40, to make sure it is 100% right before riding. Thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Would you consider buying a new 2022 Verve 3 a downgrade vs, paying for a tune up and rear wheel truing/spoke repair on my old FX? I already put about $200 into FX 2 years ago on a tune up/chain repair/tires. It is 14 years old. The Verve 3 is a step over and comes with life time free tune ups. The sales price is $850. I ride on streets, paved bike paths, and some boardwalk. I usually only ride if wind is 10MPH or less, and ride about 15 to 25 miles sitting down for exercise, not to get to work. Is my FX still a better bike for my riding style after putting another $150+ into it? Wondering if new Verve is better value now, as it should need less $ put into it next few years except for tires. I do have a Cannondale M400 mountain bike that is 25 years old, but solid. Dealer said they may be able to offer me something for my bikes, but not much as they have to tune/fix/prep them to sell and make profit. They already have a bunch of used bikes. I was hoping for $200 to $300, but not sure. Dealer said I may do better selling them myself, but FX needs back wheel truing. Plus, many used bikes online for $150 to $200 already. Basically is the Verve at $850 less any trade worth it for the next 10 years, or save money an pay for repairs and keep what I got?
