Putting my nipple piercing back in

Just had surgery so I took my nipple piercings out. I’ve had them for 2 years and was so happy they didn’t close for the four hour procedure!

When I got home, I was still loopy from pain meds and put them back in. Because I couldn’t really feel pain, I put my piercing back in and accidentally created a NEW hole. I noticed because it started bleeding immediately. I immediately switched it to the correct hole.

This was yesterday. Today it seems like all the bleeding has stopped and I cannot feel pain (though I’m still taking pain medication).

Do we think this will heal back to normal??? Has anyone else accidentally made a second hole????

Body piercing

Adding this because I just had my surgery and wanted to share my experience with nipple piercings in case someone had questions about their body piercings!!

My surgery center asked me to remove all body piercings (even if they were plastic/ designed for surgery). I was also asked to remove my bra for the surgery.

I decided to take out my piercings since my parents aren’t aware of them just to be safe and because the surgery center required it. I had them out from 11am-3:30pm.

I have had my nipple piercings for 2 years and had no problem getting them back in (I was very worried).

I hope this helps you if you’re in the same boat as me with wondering what to do!

Post-Op Diary

Tracking my personal experience 🩷
21 F; removal for unilateral tonsil enlargement

Day 0 (day of): Pain 1/10. Have had wayyyy worse sore throats in my life! Alternating Percocet every 6 hours and ibuprofen every 6 hours. Eating and drinking a LOT. I tend to get nauseous from pain medication so while I am feeling good, I am eating! Noodles, mac n cheese, scrambled eggs, and pancakes. Was prescribed Zoloft as needed. Woke up throughout the night to keep with my meds.

Day 1: Pain 2/10. Still alternating Percocet and ibuprofen. Eating and drinking. For sleep: wedge pillow, humidifier, and travel pillow to support my neck/jaw and to keep my throat hydrated. Body is sore all over from anesthesia, especially my abs!
