Why is Protestantism not reducing my religious unity?

Rule5: A protestant center of reformation has converted almost all my country to protestantism - but for some reason it doesn't affect my religious unity at all?

Not that that's bad for me I am just wondering why.

No bonuses or priviliges that affect religious unity, capital is in europe so these aren't trade company provinces, ironman.

What do I mean by themed?

Khmer has a clear theme on building huge cities.

Portugal on trade routes.

Trajan, however, doesn't have a clear theme (to me at least).

Problem is I am still kinda a beginner. I understand a good amount of game aspects but definitely not all and I'm far from playing optimally.

So playing Khmer is probably not a good idea cause it works quite different from a traditional civ game I think (holy sites not adjacent to mountains for example).

So I'd be interersted in a civ with a clear theme, but that is relatively easy to play and follows a more traditional way of playing.

I won my first (and only game on emperor) and it wasn't close so I'll try Immortal now.

Tldr: Recommend me a themed, traditional and easy to play civ please.
