So me and my girlfriend (both 19) have been planning out our engagement for a couple of weeks now, she’s picked the place she wants it and how she wants it set up, but the main issue we’re running into is a photographer.
We’re not really photogenic, like yeah it’s nice to capture the moment but that’s it, we don’t want to spend an hour taking photos with all these poses.
My question is, is it even worth hiring a photographer just for a short period or should I just have a buddy take some photos on my personal camera or on his IPhone. A lot of people my age are just taking iPhone shoots especially if it’s a short proposal.
I have currently gotten emails from photographers in the area charging 350-480$ for 30 minutes and I’m already paying a lot to come up to Wisconsin, and that’s just another expense that’ll hurt.
Edit: just contracted out a local company for 250$ for a 30 minute shoot, went to high school with him so I’m grateful I at least have a familiar face to look at. I appreciate everyone’s input
