Something poignant for an 18yo girl graduating HS

She is very intelligent, worldly, and kind. She speaks French and loves everything about French culture. She wants to be either work for the UN, the CIA, or become a lawyer (let the girl dream). Her three Favorite books are:

  1. Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

  2. Persuasion - Jane Austen

  3. A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khalid Hosseni

I would love something that is deeply touching and impactful. I read East of Eden - John Steinbeck for the first time when I was her age and it certainly changed my brain chemistry. TIA!

I haven’t been accepted or rejected from ASU. I emailed them last week after the mass email went out and was told if I haven’t gotten a rejection then I’m still under consideration. But I keep reading about acceptances going out. I can’t help but feel that May 4th will be primarily rejections, and they’ve already selected their class. Someone reality check me if I’m wrong, this is really weighing me down.
