Fry vocals feels comfy and nice, discomfort the next day
I'm really struggling with this.
I feel zero discomfort while singing but the next day I can't hit a clean note well, it's like my chords don't catch up until I add some nasal tone. Plus my throat a little sore as well, but not when speaking or singing.
What happened
I used to sing a regular fry like Puddle of Mudd, kind of nasal-sounding stuff. I've always wanted that Rise Against sound, low, muddy and dark. So, I started doing yawning (imagine kids saying "whoa" when being surprised, while kinda breathing in). That's the feeling I have, but breathing outside, obviously) and dropping my larynx. I also think I reduced nasal airflow.
That's where I'm at. I sing for about 20 minutes like that. The sound comes out just right. No pushing, not too instense or loud, just normal siging volume. No pain, maybe just slight throat dryness which I wouldn't notice before I ran into the problem. Maybe (only maybe) a single urge to cough. So I don't register any damage while singing because it's super comfortable. I only feel it the next day. Full recovery usually takes 3-4 days.
Anyone having similar problems, any fix?
