I currently work in Canada as a DevOps engineer. I’ve been working for two years and my work permit is expiring soon. My company wants to relocate me to India and work from the Indian office since I am a citizen of India.

Here in Canada, I make C$60,000 a year. In an informal meeting with my manager, he mentioned that he expects that the salary that will be offered in India could be 10 times less than what I am being paid in Canada. Is that a normal salary for a develops engineer in India with two years of work experience?

Based on my salary in Canada to maintain a similar lifestyle in India, what salary should I aim for?
