This is the beginning of the second week I was told to include 1 tablet of Metformin in the morning. So I have had one in the morning for a week now. And since I started it has helped my post meals perfectly.

Yesterday I was told to now do 3 tablets at night since they did not like my fasting numbers still creeping up 🙄

Fine so I do that I decided to see what a protein shake would do after my bedtime snack. Today it was the lowest it’s ever been at 78. But now I’m seeing two spikes for my breakfast and lunch. I wasn’t able to walk right after breakfast due to having an appointment in the morning shortly after eating. And now with lunch I spiked despite being able to walk for 30 min. Has anyone else numbers for meals spiked since adding in 3 tablets of metformin at night?? Is my blood sugars getting too low over night now and is affecting my post meals??

I have been put on metformin a few weeks now. Started at 1 tablet at night, which did not seem to do anything. So they increased to two tablets with bedtime snack and then 1 in the morning because my meals were elevated for some breakfast and lunch meals. Which have been really well, only time it is affected is when I go out of my schedule due to me being over the GD and the schedule all together and other times due to having multiple meetings that I have to unfortunately wait to eat. After that appt, I had fasting readings of 103 after the first day taking two tablets, then 3 days straight under 90. And then I had 91, 107, and today 95 readings due to waking up in the middle of the night and not falling back asleep right away. I’m also going to be 34 weeks tomorrow. I know that the further along the pregnancy the harder it is to control the fasting.

Last night I adjusted my bedtime snack to 1 hard boiled egg, cheese stick, and 1 spoonful of peanut butter. It helped it to get below 100. They want it to be below 90. Today I am going to try the same thing but also now adding a protein shake. My question is what did you guys change to help your fasting readings?
