Review #1 - The Deep Tide #1 [9.0]
Intro: I was fortunate enough to be selected for the deep as I love double oaked and finished whiskeys. I haven't had too many French oak finished but I generally loved the Reveries so I'm in.

Whiskey: The Deep Tide #1
Price: $130
Methodology: Tasted 3 times over the past month. Always neat in a Glencairn. Sometimes by itself and sometimes in head to heads.
Nose: Dark color | Rich and luscious nose | Blueberries | Burnt Caramel | Vanilla Bean | Waffle Cone
Palate: Lovely mouthfeel | Barrel Char | Blueberry | Cola | Maple Candies | Chocolate Candy Bar
Finish: Oak | Toasted Marshmallows | Mocha
Score: 9.0
Thoughts: Dark, deep, and rich. It tastes true to the name of the deep. It has the dark flavors but is balanced with the strong blueberries throughout and some nice maple sweetness. I don't often pour the same thing twice or reach for the same pour on multiple nights, but I have to hold myself back from pouring this. I have 120+ open bottles and want to keep reaching for this because it strikes all the notes I love. It isn't the most complicated or aged bourbon I've had, but its damn delicious and I could only drink this to be happy. Fat boy dessert whiskey.
