Is Quitting Drinking an Overall Positive?

I am a very sober curious person. I very much enjoy being sober and it typically happens when I am diving deep into something for long periods (e.g., each semester of university). Now that I am graduated, I find a large part of culture in Canada revolves around alcohol.

I have been asking myself the question, is quitting alcohol worth it for me?

Alcohol feels good and I love the taste of a good juicy IPA. I also understand that I like the taste of IPAs because they are strong ABV and my brain wants the alcohol. It's a similar scenario to craving sugar or McDonald's.

It is also fun to meet some friends at a brewry for some pints and get a little tipsy.

If I had ultimate control, I would remove any of these feeling of missing out so I can enjoy the feeling of clarity in peace.

One of my main motivations of quiting alcohol is for the health benefits. I guess I am wondering if the health benefits are actually sizeable. Is it worth missing out a little to stay healther for the long term?
