Numbers above normal

As we know, blood pressure readings below 120/80 are considered normal. Over the past month or so, my readings have been higher than usual. They have ranged from normal to elevated to high but always below 140/90. Until a couple of months ago, my numbers were consistently within the normal range.

However, while preparing for a recent surgery, my stress levels increased significantly. Since then, I’ve had several readings above normal, and I find myself feeling anxious every time I check my blood pressure. I’m about 90% sure this is related to stress and anticipating higher numbers, though I’m not a doctor, so I can’t say for certain.

Each time I measure, I tend to take about 10 readings, and I’m quite worked up about what the results will be. For example, my morning average today was around 133/84, and just now it was 138/84.

I am currently taking perindopril 4 mg. Anyone have any similar experiences
