honestly I’m super disappointed with their choice to adopt the lottery system this year. I read the reasoning (which still don’t entirely add up imo), but I still feel this is such a terrible way to approach it with no control group. And obviously, I personally feel upset at the change happening the year its time for me to apply, If it had been any other year my average is exceedingly high and could get me in no problem and it just feels like getting thrown to the wolves with less of a “fair” shot at my program at my dream school. I’m happy for everyone who got in, I just wish we had more detailed stats or something to make me feel like less of a guinea pig. luckily UofA is still a great school, just wanted to rant about my disappointment in the schools choice.:( love to everyone also disappointed after this round, and love to all those getting in. it’s all deserved its just a shitty way to do it
Edit: let me clarify it’s more so that it feels uncertain than unfair seeing as this is the first time they are testing something like this with such a wide range of applicant averages (min82%) for a major with a historically high competitive average
