Update: I passed
Hey everyone, looking for some advice on my current situation. I took my final yesterday and I'm worried I may have failed the course. I'm a second-year data science major and this is my linear algebra class.
I'm taking 3 courses this semester with no financial aid or scholarships. I've been doing well in my other two classes — probably A- or B+. And I was never in academic probation before. I was a student with 3.7 GPA. I've been struggling with getting up everday and felt tired all the time.
A few specific questions:
- What can I do before final grades are released? I've heard it's difficult to have a professor change a grade after it's been submitted to the system.
- Will a bad grade affect my co-op offer for next semester? That's my biggest fear right now.
- If I reach out to my professor, what should I say? I'm not aiming high — I'd be happy with a D-. Based on my math, I needed around a 42 on the final to get there, but I honestly don't know how I did. I'm hoping I got around a 50.
I've already emailed my academic advisor but got an auto-reply saying they'll respond tomorrow. Just looking for advice or reassurance in the meantime. Thanks.
