Hello there!
I have been trying to get my partner into hc for a while. We play a lot of board games, but they’re not fond of replaying WW2, which is my favourite setting - Combat Commander and the ‘4Xs are not an option.
Last week I got Arete on the iPad, and we’ve now played a couple of games which they have enjoyed - it’s a fantastic way to learn about CRTs, ZOCs, stacking limits, etc! We played a bit of Men of Iron on VASSAL and they have also gotten into that!
Having established they enjoy hc, I am now seeking recommendations for 2p games with the following constraints:
- historical but pre 20th century
- true hc (that’s my preference :)
- ideally small footprint - 22”x34” is a bit too much for us. This has sadly ruled out Flying Colors and Men of Iron.
- print & play is ok as long as it’s not a mega project (cf Armageddon War- or OST-sized)
- light to medium rules
Thank you so much!
