Over excited dog
Hello! I have an almost two year old dog who gets so excited to meet people that he barks and gets a little bouncy. He doesn’t jump onto people, he just throws his body around and hops quite a bit. He is a Pit Bull, Great Pyrenees, Mastiff mix so he’s a big boy. He has also been hyper-focusing on other dogs as well since the event. He used to ignore them on walks, now I have to prepare myself or cross the street when we see another dog because he is intent on seeing them. He goes absolutely crazy and wants to play and barks at them too, he thinks every dog is friend.
This started when he was strained his triceps and had to be on strict bedrest for 10 days. Once he got out to meet humans again he just couldn’t contain the excitement.
I have an idea on how to train it, but I wanted to ensure I do it correctly so I don’t make the issue worse. People love when he gets excited, no matter how much I protest. It makes it hard when I physically cannot leave (waiting in a line or at a bar)
