Earlier this month I had my yearly ultrasound at the radiologist. Like every year, I expected everything to be fine, but they found something suspicious in my right testicle. That same day I had bloodwork done and a CT scan scheduled. My urologist recommended an orchiectomy that took place the week after, even though nothing was palpable and my tumor markers were normal. It turned out to be a seminoma.

The surgery went well and I chose to get a prosthesis. I’m now a little over two weeks post‑op. At my follow‑up last week, my urologist told me I can gently pull the prosthesis downward throughout the day (without overdoing it), just to help it settle into position.

What I’ve noticed is that on days when I do this, I sometimes get pain in my left testicle or in the groin area later in the day. If I don’t manipulate the prosthesis, I usually don’t feel that pain.

Is this normal during recovery, or is this something I should contact my urologist about?

Hi everyone,

In the beginning of the month I had my yearly checkup at the radiologist and like all the previous years, I had assumed everything would be fine. But they saw something concerning on the right testicle. So the same day I had bloodworks taken and a CT scan planned in.

Also scheduled to have a orchidectomy. As my urologist didn’t want to take any chances. As there was nothing to feel, or no tumor markers. Turned out it was seminoma.

Surgery went great, I opted to get a prosthesis. The only thing I have now after 2 weeks ish, after my consult with the urologist last week is dat he told me I can throughout the day pull the prosthesis down. (Ofcourse not overdo it)

But some days when I do it, I feel pain during the day in my left testicle, or groin area. When the evening before/morning I manipulated the prosthesis.

My question is, is this normal? Or should I contact my urologist?
