Dodgy practice?

Hi all. Quick rundown of events located in VICTORIA

Aug 2025 signed 12 month lease.

Nov 2025 phone call from agent saying landlord may consider selling, could I let a prospective buyer through but states it only for investors and its all "off market", I let this buyer through. No notices given or compensation made.

Feb 2026 I see on their socials the property is under offer.

Flooded up by a phone call to arrange a building inspection. I comply.

April 2026 I see on their socials the property has been sold "off market".

My questions are, should I still have been given an intention to sell? Does doing it off market negate this?

I am looking to move so if/when I secure somewhere can I still give 14 days notice to vacate and it won't be a lease break because they sold it.

Appreciate advice and clarity!
