Hello Everyone! It's been almost two weeks since I posted about my tiny, screaming CDS delivery, and because you were all so lovely with name suggestions and sharing stories about your own kitties I thought I'd post an update.

First and foremost, we decided to name her Piper! Which literally no one suggested 😂 But I think it suits her, it starts with P as a nod to our dearly departed Penny, and it's fitting since we spent hours following her cries while she gave us the runaround. Like a pied piper, if you will.

She's already so much bigger it blows my mind, and her eye infection (which a number of you noted) seems to have cleared up. She figured out she can climb up our clothes to rectify not having our full attention (RIP my wardrobe), wants to murder basically anything that moves, has made it very clear she would like out of quarantine, and has covered me in tiny scratches and bite marks because she's an ankle-biting gremlin. I love her so much I can't stand it.

The vet thinks she's about five weeks old and she weighs 1.19 lbs, so smol she can fit in the palm of my hand. We tried to catch her for hours Thursday night and then camped out in the front yard all morning Friday attempting to lure her out. I knew how tiny she was from the glimpses I'd gotten of her the night before but not much else, so when I finally saw her? I was floored. We've had to say goodbye to three kitties over the past two years. I miss them all terribly, but our tortie Penny left the biggest hole in my heart. She was the clingiest, judgiest, most ridiculous cat I've ever met in my life, and losing her was absolutely devastating. I can't believe the universe gifted us this little tortie bean (and right before the two year anniversary of Penny's passing, no less).

I'm still not sure what to name her so I'd love any suggestions y'all might have. The other girls we've had are Abigail, who passed in February, and Lucy, who is asleep on my lap as I type this.
