Hi everyone,

I’m an international student in Germany currently finishing my MBA. I’ve received a full-time job offer that is supposed to start right after my final semester ends (30th September).

However, my university can take up to 5–6 months to officially release final results and certificates. Because of this delay, I won’t be able to apply for the 18-month job-seeking visa immediately after graduation.

I do already have a previous Master’s degree that is recognized in Germany. So I’m considering applying for a work visa based on that qualification instead.

My concern is: if I switch to a work visa now using my previous degree, would I lose the possibility to apply for the 18-month job-seeking visa later (for example, if I lose this job in the short term)?

Has anyone been in a similar situation or knows how this works?

Thanks in advance!
