Shifting issue, help?

So late '24 went for a ride, but the bike misheard and decided we were going for a slide. 2017 Scrambler 800.
Repairs made, parts replaced, mostly superficial. At the time I was going thru it, I replaced both the Shift Selector and Shift Return Spring (neither was broken, was precautionary) due to the shift lever being bent and stator cover being cracked. Some forums suggested that those may have broke or dislodged so played it safe.

Followed the maint. manual for torques, positioning and everything (as far as I was capable to).
Still a ton of slop in the shifting, it shifts fine but needs to be manually moved back to the "center" position when up or down shifting. No hard shifting or missing the gear positions. Any additional suggestions or time to take it to a certified mechanic/ tech?

Airplanes and cars are more my experience base, so not completely incompetent mechanically, just transmissions/ gearboxes are not my thing.
