Been traveling a bit with my dog and honestly surprised how hard it still is to find clear info.

Stuff like what’s actually allowed vs not, or random things like water safety (algal blooms etc) is weirdly hard to figure out.

Curious what others have run into… what’s been annoying or hard to find when traveling with your dog?

Built this because every time I travel with my dog I end up googling “is X dog friendly” five times a day. Figured a map would be nicer. There are other platforms that does this sort of, but i wanted a fast and performant alternative with both allowed locations along with no-go zones.

Anyone can drop a pin (no account needed), mods approve it, and you get details like water bowls, treats, off-leash rules, etc. Reviews are 1-5 stars with a “were dogs actually allowed?” toggle since the answer on Google is wrong half the time.

Users can also add safety warnings like report kennel cough among others things.

Stack if anyone cares: Next 16 + React 19, MapLibre with self-hosted Protomaps tiles, Postgres + PostGIS, Redis, Drizzle. LibreTranslate for reviews in other languages.
Still very early - mostly seeded with OSM data so plenty of pins are unverified. Would love feedback, especially on the submit flow and also the design

Edit: Only Europe and North America is enabled due to storage hehe. Will enable full globe soon
