As a predominantly decaf coffee drinker, I'm thrilled to see new roasters who are focused on elevating the decaf game. Flower & Moon Coffee is one such roaster.

I recently tried three of their four offerings (and just ordered the fourth, this morning), and here are my reviews.

First of, as a roaster, Flower & Moon is the real deal. All three coffees were exceptionally roasted. The coffees are balanced, the flavors pronounced and taken to the degree that lets the beans shine.

That's important to mention for the review of the first coffee, the Hibiscus Dream. Full transparency, I'm not a floral coffee fan. The underlying coffee is delicious, though the hibiscus aromas are a bit more than my preference. That said, if you're into the florals, this coffee will hit the spot.

Next up in the Candy Blast, which is instant nostalgia. The co-ferment brings Watermelon Bubbalicious to the dry aroma, straight through to the cup. Not an everyday drinker for me, but an absolute treat when I'm looking for something a bit off center. Delightful in my morning Chemex, and also works well as a straight shot of afternoon espresso. It's like sneaking some candy without the calories.

Finally we have the Morning Bloom, which became one of my favorite decafs from the first sip. I'm drinking the last of it, now, and kicking myself for not restocking sooner.

Morning Bloom speaks to my childhood. I get notes of chocolate and cherry liqueur, which remind me of a cake my grandmother used to make. This coffee is a true champion of all forms. Pourover, straight shot, cortado and lattes are all amazing.

I can't wait to get the Dark Flower espresso to see the trend continue. I'll drop a comment on here with an update.

Till then, I highly recommend giving these guys a try. All three coffees were wildly different, so there is something to love for everyone. Check them out at https://flowerandmoon.coffee .
