I'm going to college and am looking for a new laptop to do schoolwork, CAD, draw, and play minecraft on.

* **Total budget (in local currency) and country of purchase. Please do not use USD unless purchasing in the US:**

around 1500$

* **Are you open to refurbs/used?**

I'd want to get it new

* **How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life?**

dont need 2 in 1, want better battery life compared to my MSI which dies almost instantly.

* **How important is weight and thinness to you?**

weight and slenderness are not as important.

* **Do you have a preferred screen size? If indifferent, put N/A.**

13.5"-15"

* **Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run.**

I need to run Krita, Davinci Resolve, AutoCAD

* **If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want?**

Just Minecraft at 100 fps while screen recording

* **Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)?**

No, just a keyboard and trackpad and usb ports.

Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion.

Want a durable laptop that I can use for a while. Ideally has replaceable hardware. Trying to avoid Apple and companies that plan obsolescence. open to linux.
