u know as a kid and even in my early teens, I really feared my dad. especially when he came home and the car pulled into the driveway. The TV had to be turned off, things needed to be put back into place, food needed to be picked up, and everything had to be organized cuz the big man is here.
not because he was a aggressive person or would purposely scold us for making a mess. it was natural. it was out of respect. we had to look presentable in front of him because he ALWAYS looked presentable. we wanted to show him his sons are somewhat like him. we wanted to impress him
But as i have gotten older and so has my dad, he’s no longer as rigid and serious as he was before and our bond has only grown. The fatherly fear is still there but it has transformed into something more. we are like bbfs now the way we goof around and joke around. When dad is home it’s the best time.
anyhow, the same can’t be said about this furball. Usaully he roams around the house like he owns the place. bro thinks he’s the boss 😎 Whenever there is somebody at the door his tail shoots up and he gets all excited if its like any of my siblings.
but if it’s my dad 🥶. bro runs to the edge of the sofa and watches him intently, his every move. then proceeds to not move until he goes upstairs to change.
its so funny 😂 he‘ll just stand there staring with just pure fear in his eyes😆.
i caught him doing the other day. Dads are scary icl but bro he won’t eat you lil bro.
funny cuz my mom is ruthless to him but he still loves her whereas my dad has never said a word to him. But I know he loves my dad cuz he goes and sits by his feet when watches tv.
I cannot believe the news. RIP man. I had briefly interacted with him prior to leaving for a few weeks.
At the time, he had surgery and I had wished him well. it’s devastating that he’s no longer here with us but he will forever be in our prayers.
