Examining Self-Actualization and Spirituality as Buffers for Death Anxiety: Seeking Participants and Discussion on Existential Resilience

Examining Self-Actualization and Spirituality as Buffers for Death Anxiety: Seeking Participants and Discussion on Existential Resilience

*URGENT: NEED 200 PARTICIPANTS*

Hello!

I am a clinical psychology doctoral student at NAU investigating how internal resources like spirituality and self-actualization may mitigate death anxiety and increase death acceptance. I would greatly appreciate your anonymous participation.

I’m exploring "Meaning Management" (MMT) as a proactive alternative to traditional defense-based models (like TMT). Specifically, I'm looking at how self-actualization and spirituality predict existential well-being and adaptive responses to mortality.

Details:

  • Target: Adults (18+), English proficient
  • Time: ~20 minutes
  • Incentive: Voluntary; opportunity for personal insight/self-reflection
  • Ethics: Approved by NAU IRB (#2363187-1)

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these constructs or your own experiences with existential data collection!
