Seeking adaptive solutions for computer use, for someone with dysarthria and no motor coordination.
My good friend had a brain stem stroke 4.5 years ago at age 34 that has left him dependent on others for all daily tasks. He made slow but steady progress for several years, and he was blogging which gave him hope and a sense of purpose. I edited his blog, which gave us a nice connection. He could type on a tablet, albeit very slowly.
Then he had a series of TIAs that erased all his progress. He doesn't have the motor coordination to type, his vision is very poor, and his speech is very difficult to understand, even to someone who knows him and talks to him a lot.
Without his ability to communicate online, he has lost hope, and he has lost his main connection to the world. He doesn't want to live anymore, but I think if he could write again, he may regain some hope.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
