Fence footers cracked after less than 1 year, what are my options?
Had a 6' fence installed level with neighbor's yard, and to do that it needed to be on concrete footings above the ground (highest concrete footing is 2' above grade, 3' below grade). Fence company wouldn't install the concrete, so another contractor did instead, and the fence company drilled into the posts after the fact to put in the posts (on pipes). Less than year after that the concrete on the footings more than 6" above grade is cracking and at least one post wobbles very slightly when pushed. Otherwise the fence seems very stable even in stronger winds (though it is quite well protected from most winds). This is in the pacific northwest where we rarely get freezing temperatures, though we did very briefly over the last winter.
From what I can tell from similar questions, either these need to be replaced or sealed and wrapped, but I'm not sure how important it is given it's just a fence. If it helps, I plan to build a stone wall around them and was considering filling between the wall and the post with more concrete instead of gravel if that would work.
What's the right move? Any other options?
