There’s something off with how people price stuff down here in Florida. Every time I check Facebook Marketplace, folks are listing used items at brand-new prices—or so close that it makes zero sense. There are levels to this. If I’m paying near retail, I might as well go through a pawn shop, Amazon, or another online retailer where I get buyer protection or a warranty.

I’m not even lowballing—I make fair offers. One guy actually sent me a screenshot of the Amazon price, so I told him “thanks.” He asked, “For what?” I said, “For showing me where I can just go buy it brand new.”
