Hi, I’m very new to the gym, started going regularly about a month ago. For some context I’m f23, 162cm and 108,9kg at the moment. I alos don’t know if I’m using the correct “lingo” 😭 so sorry in advance.

My boyfriend helped me with a plan of 2 upper days and 2 lower days. I’m really enjoying the journey and especially exercising with weights.

On legs day I’m supposed to have an exercise that targets my abs and my boyfriend recommended cable crunches, machine crunches, or hanging knee raises.

I’m having trouble with all of the above.

The cable crunches i just either fall on my face 😭😭😭 or can’t go down or keep my form right (i have tried adjusting the weight and my boyfriend has tried to help me but i just cant get it right). I even saw a “hack” or whatever on tiktok to try and do it sitting on the lat pulldown machine, couldn’t do it

With the machine crunches I cant even do more than 1 without any weights.

And with the hanging ones, well, I cant really hold myself up.

I have looked yo exercises on insta and tiktok and cant find anything else thats with weights that can help me.

Everything else i found is based on body weight and my boyfriend said that it wont really do anything but i can do it if i want to.

so yeah, basically i need help with finding an exercise that works so i can do it consistently.

thanks in advance and let me know if im missing any relevant info

TL;DR: New to the gym, struggling with cable crunches/machine crunches/hanging knee raises (can’t do them properly yet 😭). Looking for beginner-friendly ab exercises that actually work, preferably weighted.
