Hi! I reached out last year for help deciding what to do with a tree next to my home (link below) and decided to give the tree a chance and have it trimmed back. It was mentioned that it's likely a silver maple. This spring it's doing just fine but smaller. However we are noticing the ground around the base of the trunk being extra wet and puddles that aren't drying up easily as they would have in previous years. From my research I'm seeing that this can happen because the roots are still bringing in the water but the tree needs less, etc? My concern is the foundation wall of this addition is showing water in the crawl space as well and we are getting a bit concerned about it.

In your experience is this typical, long lived, something we can do to remedy? Or do we need to find waterproofing solutions because it will be ongoing. Thank you so much!

*sorry I made the post and forgot that it wasn't an oak, but a maple and can't correct*
