For any 3rd gen owners or GM techs, I need some help before I lose my mind chasing this thing.
Trying to locate the A/C evaporator condensate drain access point on the 3rd gen Canyon. Specifically where I can access the evaporator drain or a usable entry point to clean the evaporator coils with something like Kool-It. I’m dealing with the classic gym bag / locker room funk and it’s reached the “okay we need to go to the source” stage.
I’m not looking for prevention tips at this point, and I say that with love. I know the drill. I already do the “turn the A/C off a few miles before arriving so the box dries out” thing, I had the dealer enable after-blow, cabin filter is handled, all of it. I’ve basically done the whole anti-swampland starter kit.
Now I just want a proper baseline reset and clean the bacteria/mold at the evaporator itself.
Important part:
I’m only looking for 3rd gen Canyon info. I keep finding references to the 2022 Canyon drain by the driver footwell near the gas pedal, but that does not apply here.
Has anyone located:
• The condensate drain tube from underneath?
• An interior access point to the evaporator case?
• A good injection point for Kool-It or similar cleaner?
• Service manual diagrams, photos, or “it’s tucked above X bracket” type guidance?
If you’ve done this on a 2023+ GMC Canyon, or if any GM tech knows where GM hid this thing, I’d be hugely grateful.
Feels like this drain line is protected by national security at this point.
