My first Scarlet Tanager!
My wife and I have only been birding since November, so this spring has been exciting! This past Sunday we entered a forest after exploring a more open area with bushes by some water. Immediately I saw the BRIGHTEST red bird jumping from tree to tree about 7-8ft off the ground. I guess they’re usually up high and hard to spot so I consider this a blessing!
EDIT: I’m located between Ithaca and Cortland, NY.
