I am looking for some advice if anyone would care to chime in:

I passed my SAFE exam a couple months ago and have an NMLS number assigned to me. I do not have a company sponsor since I am not employed by a lender / broker. Therefore, I do not have an active Colorado MLO license.

I do, however, have an active notary commission from Colorado. I would like to add Notary Signing Agent (NSA) to my marketable skill set. (The notary there at the signing table with the borrowers during closing).

Is it allowed that I advertise my NMLS # on my business card even though what I would be doing is not MLO related, or even requiring licensure? For the actual business transactions themselves, I would not use my NMLS number, just my notary commission #. I just think that I might be able to get title companies to work with me more if they know I have passed my SAFE exam and therefore am not clueless.

If I am not allowed to advertise my NMLS #, does anybody know of a company that I can use strictly for the sponsorship? My assumption is that my sole proprietorship notary business DBA is not allowed to sponsor myself.

Thanks for your advice!
