In February of this year I was in desperate need of a car of my own since I haven’t been home for about 5 or 6 months. At this point I was sharing a ride with my gf to get to work but our schedules would get in the way of each others so I thought it was a good excuse to finally get a car of my own. I had many different options but I always wanted a civic coupe so when I found a 10th gen for 15k 83k miles also being a 6 speed manual I thought found something that was within my budget I went for it. The same day I found the car was the same day I went to go look at it and fast forward to the deal while test driving everything was good but I noticed a engine light and when the car would turn on it would say emission warning. 2 sales person promised me that it was just a code that needed clearing because it was inspected previously and they said the mechanic forgot to clear the code and I know this was my error but being my first time buying a car I was blind and went on to buy the car 2k down. Some weeks down I went to a shop to get a diagnostic and was told I needed a new front cat so I called the dealer maybe about 10 times within 2 months and even dropping off my car for a day for nothing to be done. I kept calling and they always promised me they’ll fix it and nothing still nothing I’ve went through 3 temp tags about to be 4 and a failed inspection and even went as far as to buying my own cat which the car decided to burn through and giving me even more codes. I’ve been throwing hundreds after hundreds on diagnosing and part buying for nothing to fix the emission light. And then after my last visit at the dealer I wasn’t so nice so they forcefully took my car into their build in shop just for a mechanic to tell me my car is tuned and no matter how many cats I put on it it will continue to burn through it. So now I’m caught up again having to spend more money to take it to a tuned to do another diagnostic and restoring the ecu back to factory. I know I made a bad decision my dad chews me out about everyday but I’m paying way too much for insurance and car payment being unable to afford fixing my car and what’s adding more pressure is I’m going back home from college and transfering to working in dc so now I’ll have to deal with possibly being pulled over even more which I forgot to mention my car came with a loud exhaust that I already added a resonator but I’m also dealing with not having plates still in the process of removing the tint. Let me know what yall think
