Hey there,

ST4 General Surgery SpR here. I’m hoping to chat with my more senior SpRs about the pros and cons of their chosen general surgery subspecialty.

I enjoy being academically inclined and excelling in my role but I’m unsure if I want to become a surgeon who spends their life solely in the hospital. Ideally, I’d love to work in private practice if possible.

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences and the pros and cons of your chosen subspecialty. Is there anything that you regret?
