Alarms blare, countless boots stamp across the interior grates of walkways and the dense maze of halls. Power flickers and fades like a dying pulse. Swathes of hallways are sealed as holes tear open from pressure outside. Above, Intercoms give directions to both Civilian personnel and Union soldiers; other Lancers being sent outside the rapidly descending hull to desperately fix torn plating.

You were never meant to see such action.

Fresh from different piloting schools across the Union, you find yourself having been selected to be stationed aboard the UNS-CV 'Valdivian' - a state of the art armed colony ship - on its harrowing and experimental journey: to be deliberately sling-shot through a blink-gate into unknown space, and establish framework for Union influence to extend into the beyond.

Now, your mission seems to already be in jeopardy, as your sudden thawing from stasis following the ship's rapid descent to a colossal, unidentified planet. Once more from above, the ship-bound NHP calls for all souls to brace for impact.
