NOOB to CAD and OpenSCad here… wandering about and trying to find my way. I have extensive old-school IT experience but am new to CAD/OpenSCad
My OS is Windows 11 Pro and I recently upgraded from OpenSCAD Version: 2021.01 to the OpenSCAD Version: 2026.04.26.
The 2026 version opens several windows, Animate/Font List/Color List/Viewport Control, that I have no use for at this point.
As a result, I end up closing them when first opening a project. I’ve checked and I’m finding lots of conflicting info, like...
OpenSCad is supposed to save my setting when I close, it doesn’t
OpenSCAD saves the settings in the Windows registry... I find the registry entries and there are entries to "hideConsole" and "hideErrorLog" but nothing for the others
OpenSCAD saves the settings in a config file… I think this is a left over from earlier versions
So, I’m at a loss and my question is…
Is there a way to customize the UI to only open the windows I want?
If so how?
