Best veterinary neurologists in Orlando for seizures/Lafora disease?

Best veterinary neurologists in Orlando for seizures/Lafora disease?

Hi everyone!
disease, I’m now looking for recommendations for the best veterinary neurologists in the Orlando area.

My dog started having seizure-like episodes about a year ago, and although levetiracetam has helped control them significantly, I still feel like she may be in pain or uncomfortable, especially around her neck/head area. We’ve already done a CT scan and consulted multiple veterinarians, including a neurologist outside the country, but I would really like to find someone experienced with epilepsy, Lafora disease, or complex neurological cases in dogs.

If anyone has had a good experience with a veterinary neurologist in Orlando (or nearby in Florida), I would truly appreciate recommendations, especially doctors who are thorough, compassionate, and willing to investigate beyond just seizure control.

Has anyone else had a Husky diagnosed with Lafora disease?

About a year ago, my Husky started having strange episodes where it looked like she would suddenly move her head side to side involuntarily. At first they were very sporadic and subtle, but over the past few months they started getting worse and happening more often.
We did a CT scan, and one veterinarian believed the issue could be related to compression in her cervical vertebrae because she showed pain when moving her head, and the scan was mainly focused on her neck area.
However, the episodes continued, so we consulted a neurologist outside of our country and sent him videos of the attacks. Based on the videos, he said it was most likely Lafora disease.
We later consulted a second doctor, who told us these were seizures and prescribed levetiracetam. Since starting the medication, the seizures have mostly stopped, which has been a huge relief. But I still feel like my dog is in pain or uncomfortable, especially around her neck/head area.
Has anyone here experienced something similar with their Husky or with Lafora disease in general? Did your dog also seem painful even when the seizures were controlled? Any experiences or advice would really mean a lot right now.
