I’m seeing a virtual menopause clinic for my HRT (E, P, T and vaginal estrogen). Today I saw my gynecologist for a Pap test and ultrasound. She refused to book me for next year because she doesn’t approve of my testosterone prescription (low dose Androgel). She basically thinks that the private menopause clinic I’m going to is irresponsible to prescribe T. She also said that if I still have hot flashes on .100 patch, then it’s not hormones and it’s cardiovascular. I asked if I should see a cardiologist, but she said my “other clinic” should be sending me there (ie, they’re not doing their job). I left feeling berated and a bit scared. In retrospect, maybe I shouldn’t have disclosed what I’m on. Why is it so difficult to get integrated care as a woman?
