I only started reading last year. I’ll admit I did start with acotar (don’t come for me lmao) it’s what got me into reading. I’ve recently DNFd Daughter of no Worlds by Carissa Broadbent, and The Raven Scholar by Antonia Hodgson. I found these both to be incredibly boring, DNFd both about halfway through.
Books I have read to give some insight on what I do and do not enjoy…
- The Serpent and the Wings of Night, especially enjoying the third instalment of the series The Songbird and the Heart of Stone. The two standalones she has I enjoyed a lot.
- A Fate Inked in Blood & the second book A Curse Carved in Bone, I enjoyed.
- I absolutely adored the Throne of Glass series, probably my favourite read so far.
- Fourth Wing series I’m a bit torn, first book I loved, the second and third I felt like I had to force myself to read… I was invested in what was going to happen but it felt like such a drag.
- This Woven Kingdom I was unsure on at first but ended up loving, loved the second and the build up… the third I was a bit let down with, same with the 4th although I’m eager to find out what happens.
- The Crimson Moth I devoured in a single night, loved it. The second book was okay.
I’m aware some of the books I enjoy people think are terribly written😅 but I can’t help liking what I like. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been looking into starting The Priory of the Orange Tree but I’m hesitant as I’ve DNFd two in a row, also not sure how I feel in the change in perspective
