how to moisturize my hands adequately

okay guys. i started a lab tech position a few months ago and my hands have been fucking fried. i wash them between each batch, before/after exiting and returning to the lab, not to mention before/after meals and bathroom breaks and whatever else.

how do i keep my hands from being dry as fuck?? obviously throughout the day putting lotion on is pointless, but i do apply it during my lunch break. i’ve tried everything- balms, hand lotion of varying kinds and prices, aquaphor, cbd balm. is this just something my body will acclimate to over time? probably. all of my coworkers are in the same boat but their hands don’t look nearly as fried as mine.

anyway enjoy some pictures of my horrible hands. IM ONLY 23 BUT THEY LOOK SO OLD!!!!!

thanks for the advice!

yesterday i posted about my tender 10 g septum. since then i have learned that it was pierced too low. it thankfully is not in the hard cartilage but i wanted to thank everyone that commented. i have since removed the 10 g clicker.

i believe the piercing is still viable to stretch as long as i continue to stack it and listen to my body. this morning i visited urgent care to remove the ring because i couldn’t not for the life of me get the clasp open. all is well and i have put the stack back in. i will be considering getting it repierced if i experience more discomfort.

anyway, i think the reason the 10 g clicker hurt so much is because 1. the incorrect placement only allowed for <2.5 mm of stretching and 2. the stacking made an oblong fistula that didn’t press up against the harder cartilage.

i am sorry for being defensive. it was hard to hear that piercers i trusted and my community recommended didn’t inform me of the incorrect placement. the thought process on their end was probably like “well if you don’t have any problems now it’ll probably be fine” and didn’t want to shame other piercers or me.

thanks again!

hello!! i have been stretching my septum for a while now and have really been struggling to find online sources to buy larger gauge titanium jewelry. there’s a jewelry shop in my city that has quite the selection, but anything 10g and bigger is really only offered in steel (for the types of jewelry i need anyway. they have lots of other options for ears). specifically, im looking for a 10g and 8g titanium clicker. i did check out the piercing subreddit and they had a great list of websites, but very few of them have anything larger than a 10 g, let alone the jewelry type i’m looking for. there are local piercers in my area with large selections of jewelry, but again none of them have a decent selection of larger gauge titanium clickers. i am certain they could special order something for me, but id rather look at them on my own and not put them through the trouble.

any and all advice is appreciated! thanks!

EDIT: after reviewing the mod comment, i looked at body art forms and they only have clickers up to a 10 :(. maybe im one of the very few septum stretchers that want a big clicker. oh well. we ball. still any help is welcome.
