Dealing with challenging team lead
I am in a dilemma about sharing feedback about a new team lead’s leadership style, even though I am seeing how it is wearing out the team.
Our feedback and concerns are frequently dismissed and disregarded. When we share ideas, there’s no room for us to speak fully as the team lead cuts in immediately to steer the conversation to another direction. It‘s starting to feel more and more unsafe and uncomfortable to speak up and contribute.
I am not sure if the team leader is self aware about how these actions affected the team. But was wondering if it’s worthwhile to give the feedback directly to this team lead or go straight to the next level (department head) to share this feedback. Hope to hear any views on how to navigate this situation.
