new to kill team with a friend and games seem very one sided
as the title suggests, we are having games and they seem very one sided at the moment. we are spending a long time figuring out the rules as we play, remembering keywords, looking up interactions and figuring out little quirks with our teams. i picked up canoptek circle as a Necron fan and he picked up wolf scouts as a big Viking fan and they share a similar look. Every one of our games has been very one sided towards me, but heres the thing, to me it hasnt always felt like it. my friend on the other hand after turning point two seems to give up after not losing a single model but feeling like he cant move. today we played on tombworld, randomly drew map layout 1 and the crit op was loot.
my take away from our games is that this match up seems to be one side crushes the other, less of a back and forth. my team wants to play defensive, force the opponent to move into bad positions and then punish, where as his wolf scouts want to be aggressive and get into melee as fast as possible. he seems to never really be able to, or at least he seems he cant.
we are 4 games in and i have won them all, where it feels like i have been prepared for a good game, set myself up and then he just concedes when he cant seem to find an opening by just rambo-ing his operatives into my firing line. and i can tell he is annoyed by how he speaks and his voice changes.
i want to have better games with him and have suggested i play AoD for our next game, but i dont actually know how that match up is in general.
How is the canoptek vs wolf scouts match up, is it very one sided when one team wins and is it more favoured towards canoptek?
what advice can i give to my friend, and what sort of tac ops should he choose?
i just want to have fun games with my friend and i dont want to throw games to make him feel like he has a chance, but i dont mind allowing movement slide or mistakes go under the radar if ultimately the game ends up more enjoyable for us both, it kind of sucks being new myself because in most games i would know how to help my friend, but here i dont and can only give advice on my intuition not my experience.
