Hi, we are moving into our first home and we are in an apartment right now the issue is our possession date it may 15 and our rental agreement doesn’t end until July 31. We don’t want to pay the extra 2 months if we are not living there anymore. What are our options? We’ve spoken to the landlord but they stated there is no way to get out of the agreement before the end date. What happens if we just stop paying the rent? Are they likely to sue or make us pay it somehow? The rent is $1200 a month.
