Just wanted to share a successful recovery/conversion of an HP t820 Flexible Thin Client into the Chrome ecosystem. With the 148 Beta build (16640.13.0) hitting the reven board, I decided to see how far this "enterprise tank" could be pushed compared to my usual ThinkPad gear.
The Setup:
- CPU: Intel Pentium G3220 (Haswell) @ 3.00GHz
- RAM: 8GB DDR3
- Storage: 240GB SSD (Showing ~225GB free)
- Kernel: 6.12.54-01122
- Graphics: Mesa Intel HD (HSW GT1)
The performance on Build 148 is surprisingly snappy. I've already migrated my dev environment and Python scripts over from my Windows 11 machine via the Google Drive desktop sync.
Technical Observation: The Intel I217-LM Ethernet is rock solid on this build, but I'm curious if anyone else on the mp-v10 keys has noticed any issues with ARC (Android) being hard-disabled? I’m digging through the chrome_system_log now to see if there's a flag I missed.
Anyone else repurposing enterprise thin clients for the 148 milestone?
