The Witcher "Promotional Copy - (Atari) - has anyone seen a release like this before?
Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a copy of The Witcher for PC (DVD, Games for Windows) published by Atari, and it has a yellow stripe on the cover saying “PROMOTIONAL COPY – NOT FOR RESALE.”
Inside, the disc is also labeled as a promo disc, and it appears to be a factory-pressed (silver underside), not a burned copy.
I’ve been trying to find any information about this exact version online, but I couldn’t find much—no clear listings or documentation. That made me wonder if it might have been a press/review copy or something distributed to stores.
So I wanted to ask:
- Has anyone here seen this exact promo version before?
- Do you know how it was originally distributed (press, retail promo, events)?
- Any idea how rare something like this might be?
- And what could be a rough value for it today?
