My grandfather was a tail gunner with the 493rd Bomb Group, 852nd Squadron, of the 8th Air Force during WWII. He passed away when I was just a year old, and our family doesn’t have many photographs of him with his crew or what we assume is his plane, except for this one.
I know it’s a long shot, and I’m not even sure this is the best place to ask, but any help would be greatly appreciated in identification.
