This is more of a little love letter to this whole genre and not a particular subsection. So, you can see my 'journey' sort of started with a particular record, ¿Dónde Jugaran las Niñas? - Molotov. It ain't metal. It just scratches a tiny bit into Nu, but it isn't particularly heavy. That was when I thought, 'So rock can be like that, huh', and so I finally decided to delve after being a die-hard Måneskin fan for two years.
First, I started with Kill Em' All. I blew my mind to be frank. Then 3DBY, for me, it sounded like a white-boy version of Molotov, blew my mind. From those two I started unraveling into many, many bands like Megadeth, Khemmis, Sabbath, Judas and manyyy others that aren't included here like Maiden, Rhapsody, Acid Bath, Helmet, Midnight...I could really go on and on.
This genre means a lot to me. It has been with me for a year now, and i dont plan on letting it go any soon. It showed me that the music I liked (rock, particularly alt/hard rock) could be more. I listened to bands like Enjambre, Los Bunkers, Zoé, The Warning (if you haven't noticed yet, English aint my native language), and even BAND-MAID, Fall Out Boy (nothing else after Folie A Deux besides PAX AM DAYS), Infuge and, heck, even some Stoner Rock bands like Master Splinter and Riot in the Attic. But none of those hit me as hard as Phantom Lord and Metal Militia. Those two songs are the reason I am posting this
If you want, I'd be pleased to read ya'll 'journeys', a lot of you have been probably in here for decades, probably you have crazy histories or idk.
Peace.
